Alpine cheese factory

Alpkäserei

The cows grazing on our juicy alpine meadows deliver the tasty milk for our cheese specialties.
Our alpine cheese factory is situated along the mountain pass road on the Jaunpass.

Alpkäserei

We are looking forward to welcome you in our factory. Take some time to watch us process the milk and do not forget to taste our alpine cheese.

Alpine cheese factory association Jaunpass:

The majority of the farmers, who let their cattle graze on the Jaunpass in summer, have founded the association with the goal to process the milk where it is produced - on the Jaunpass in the middle of the alpine region. In fall 1999 they started building the cheese factory and finished in spring 2000, just in time for the procession of the cattle up to the alps. Every day the farmers bring their milk to the cheese factory. About 170'000 liters of milk are delivered during the summer months. The factory produces cheese and other milk products from this milk. The modern infrastructure of the cheese factory allows up to 2'800 liters of milk to be processed within one day. This equals 24 loafs of alpine cheese each weighing about 10kg.
